Overview

The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Project Manager will drive operational excellence within Medical Affairs projects and assigned medical brand teams ensuring high quality end to end planning and execution. This role will be responsible for executing new process excellence frameworks, templates, and ways of working with the teams to ensure excellence in execution. The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Project Manager will work collaboratively across all Medical Affairs functions, as well as cross-functionally to ensure an aligned, synergistic Insmed approach.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic and Tactical Planning – Facilitate and coordinate the processes to create medical strategies and priorities, and tactical plans aligned to strategy in partnership with Medical Affairs functions. Ensure executional measurements are included to evaluate the success of tactics and strategies. Develop dashboards to track progress against plans and identify potential risk/mitigation plans.
  • Launch Readiness - Drive the process for medical launch readiness planning, reviews, tracking and reporting.
  • Operational and Executional Excellence – Drive the implementation of Process Excellence standards within Medical Affairs brand teams. Coordinate and facilitate ongoing medical affairs brand team meetings and drive optimal meeting hygiene to deliver efficiency and effectiveness. Track project achievements and overall brand plan progress. Provide project management support and expertise for selected tactics based on complexity and importance to the plan.
  • Knowledge Management – Content preparation and consolidation for Medical Affairs brand team meetings, annual planning process, and launch process in partnership with line function leaders. Own distribution of content and management of documents to ensure ease of access.
  • Budget Management – Manage annual budget planning in collaboration with functional leaders and finance. Proactive evaluation and identification of risks/opportunities with finance.
  • Stakeholder Management – Work collaboratively across all functions within Medical Affairs, and in particular the Director of Strategic Optimization on key projects. Close collaboration with Finance on budget management. Provide clear direction on processes, deliverables, timelines, etc. Drive and advocate new ways of working across the teams.
  • Reporting – Consolidate metrics, status updates, and reporting for supported projects and teams for communication to various forums and platforms. Own the tracking of Medical Affairs objectives, in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Optimization, via regular dashboard updates in coordination with Medical Affairs functions.
  • Project Support – Provide project management support and expertise across Medical Affairs ad-hoc projects as needed by the business including, but not limited, to Field Medical needs.
  • Solution Oriented – Identify business challenges surfaced in core brand meetings and other forums and facilitate the transition into actions/projects
  • Innovation – Implement best-in-class project management tools and processes into the Insmed ways of working.
Position Requirements (Required and/or Preferred Skills, Experience and Education):
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent 4-Year University degree required, other advanced degree or equivalent experience a plus
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification desirable
  • Prior experience in Pharmaceutical project management required (5-7 years), with experience in Medical Affairs
  • Prior experience in launch planning and execution
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Affairs processes and understanding of key activities required. Understanding of functions across the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Expertise with Smartsheet. Ability to create dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Global experience or experience in multiple regions an advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various collaborators and functions
  • Ability to influence and drive without authority
  • Proven track record of leading process and operational excellence
  • Forward looking with continuous process improvement mentality
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong critical thinking with ability to connect multiple components

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)!
  • Advanced skills in project management tools, Smartsheet, and Excel/Word/PowerPoint
  • Enables creative problem solving, encourages unique solutions, and effectively solves challenges problems

Salary Range

$147,000 - $206,333 a year
