Overview

The Sr Associate, People Operations position partners with HR team members and organizational clients to manage various HR systems. Primary focus will be within the Human Capital Management (HCM) system: Workday. Oversee organizational changes ensuring data integrity/security within the system, analyze workflow process design, gather technical business requirements, and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This role will also investigate process improvements to ensure Workday meets current business needs, planning for future opportunities and updating system capabilities in strong partnership/input with key business partners and Human Resource team members. This position serves as a technical point-of-contact for employee needs and inquiries, including system issues, conducting organizational wide training when needed. Operationally, this role will develop, refine, & document all processes in their assigned Focus Areas/Module, along with creating any training and guidance documents to support internal clients. The position also supports Workday maintenance, upgrades, testing, and other technical projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the Director of People Operations, act as the primary Workday Lead in the module design management, operation, and optimization for: Performance & Talent, Learning, & Integrations.
  • Act as secondary support for Workday modules: Onboarding, Workforce Planning, Reporting, Recruitment, Compensation, Core HCM, Absence, Time Tracking.
  • Maintain, oversee, and audit organizational data and changes within designated Workday focus area
  • Ensure system workflows/processes, data fields, and validation tables are accurately captured and maintained within Workday focus area.
  • Prepare and maintain HR processes and workflow documentation for HR initiatives within and outside Workday. Develop training and guidance to support various stakeholders on how to navigate tasks within Workday (employee vs. manager vs. HR team member).
  • Liaise with HRBP, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, IT, Compliance & Finance team members to ensure seamless integration and data flow across HR systems; provide innovative approaches to enhance efficiencies.
  • Partner with vendors (AMS Provider) and key internal partners to investigate and resolve interface issues within and between systems.
  • Triage employee requests and issues within our internal ticketing system – ServiceNow.
  • The ability to design & generate Workday reports in response to various functional area business needs while ensuring data integrity.
  • Train functional practitioners/admins & employees on existing & new processes/functionality. Train new system users as needed.
  • Identify and test new system applications and features to further streamline and automate business initiatives.
  • Participate in larger projects, enhancements, and process improvements - applying change management practices when communicating and launching to employees.
  • Perform system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing, and implementation of Workday system upgrades or patches. Collaborate with functional and technical partners to coordinate application of an upgrade or fix.
  • Provide production support, including researching and resolving Workday and other HR system issues, unexpected results, or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
  • Ensure all HR systems are in compliance with internal data security and privacy requirements. Confirm system and employee data and processes are captured in accordance with federal/state regulation, and within compliance with SOX guidelines.
  • Continually assess current systems and utilization; identify and recommend improvements such as training, configuration, and enhancements to maximize value and efficiency within Workday & other HR systems
  • Maintain awareness of current HCM trends, attending conferences and/or trainings to stay up to date on the latest technology.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Computer Science, or other related field required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related HCM system experience required; prior experience in Pharma and/or Biotech a plus.
  • Thorough technical and functional understanding of all areas/modules of Workday, including system design.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills necessary; ability to work with all levels within the organization.
  • Must be organized with an ability to manage workload, and multiple projects, efficiently to fulfill commitments in a timely manner.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Salary Range

$42 - $59 an hour
