Overview

The Associate Director (AD), Distribution and Channel Management role will be a key contributor to distribution operations in the company. They will be responsible for the operational functions associated with managing the Third Party Logistics Provider (3PL) and Specialty Distributor (SD) as well as alignment and communications with internal cross functional stakeholders. The AD will perform the duties necessary to ensure Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Distribution Practice and other GxP compliance, including initiating purchase orders, validating invoice charges, developing business ownership of specialty logistics and import and export service providers. This person will be a key member of the Distribution and Channel Management team and will have cross functional work with other members of the commercial team, including Patient Services, Marketing, Sales, and other internal stakeholders including supply chain and legal. This role does include direct communication and collaboration with trading partners. In addition, the AD will partner with Insmed QA to ensure trade-specific QA compliance, including potential role-specific audit results and monitoring Corrective Action- Preventative Action (CAPA) Implementation. This is an individual contributor role with a collaborative team mindset.

Responsibilities

•    Day to day operational support, including ordering and inventory management, for Specialty Distribution and 3PL.
•    Program management; purchase orders, reconciling invoices, including interpreting and assessing distribution data to ensure compliance to agreements.
•    Clearly communicate the progress of weekly/monthly/quarterly initiatives to Sr Director and Director, on performance of distribution partners.
•    Maintain effective communications with cross functional and peer level trading partner contacts.
•    Perform new product 3PL and SD distribution & logistics activities to ensure launch date success.
•    Exhibit professional knowledge in distribution and channel operations, transportation & logistics, import/export service provider management and forecasting.
•    Stay current on weather, labor, security, and industry issues affecting distribution services to customers and patients.
•    Ensure GxP distribution compliance and operational supplier management in accordance with established SOPs.
•    Perform role-specific Computer System Validation and Change Control. 
•    Work effectively with internal stakeholders including Commercial Strategy & Operations, Compliance, Finance, Global Managed Access Programs, Information Technology, Legal, Quality Assurance to ensure success of Distribution and Channel Management operations
