About the Role!

 

The Insmed Summer Internship Program gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment in the pharmaceutical industry, receive mentoring from highly skilled professionals, and work on dynamic team projects. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship that will begin May 26, 2020 and conclude on August 14, 2020.

 

Relocation assistance, temp housing and/or travel assistance will not be provided.

 

The intern will be assigned goals and objectives that will support the strategic business plan of the Aerosol Research team, specifically to develop/optimize an aerosol powder generator to deliver reproducible drug doses to the lungs of rodents.This is a non-supervisory position

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and evaluate inhalation equipment or devices for in-vivo and/or in-vitro studies.
  • Conduct aerosol dose delivery sampling, and aerodynamic particle size characterization of different formulations using NGI, Marple, or Andersen impactors to support Research Department programs.
  • Daily activities include sample analysis by HPLC using CAD, ELSD, MS, or UV detectors, generating summary of results, and maintaining proper Electric Notebook (ELN) to capture all experiment detail.

Qualifications

About you!

  • Currently in full-time pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or advanced level degree in Applied Science, Bio-medical, or Mechanical Engineering, with hands-on experience on Piezoelectric Disc Actuators.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.
