About the Role!

 

The Senior Director of Medical Affairs role for INS1007 (Phase 2 product in development for the treatment of bronchiectasis) will be responsible for supporting INS1007 through its life cycle via leadership of medical affairs strategy and guidance.  This position will be responsible for building the INS1007 medical team and will report directly to the Executive Director of Medical Affairs. Together with the Executive Director of Medical Affairs, this role will have responsibility for supporting development and launch activities in the United States and globally and will be recognized as part of a high value medical team with the external medical community. This role will play a critical role in engagement of the external medical community.

 

Specific position level will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 

  • Leadership role within a cross functional team of medical professionals in planning and executing all aspects of the global integrated medical affairs plans for INS1007. 
  • Medical leadership of external medical experts and medical advisory boards
  • Provide medical support in developing the strategy, design and execution of Phase 3 company sponsored studies on INS1007 
  • Provide medical support for regulatory interactions
  • Provide medical support for marketing strategy development for INS1007.
  • Provide medical support for the review of medical materials, including standard medical information response documents and materials used by Field Medical
  • Provide medical support in developing the medical communications strategy (Abstracts, posters, publications)
  • Provide medical support in developing the strategy for Independent Medical Education in compliance with internal process
  • Provide strategic support to the evaluation of data gaps and provide support to the processes related to Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Collaboratively work with other key stakeholders (Field Medical, Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Commercial)

Qualifications

About you!

 

  • Requires either a Board-certified Physician (M.D. or MD/Ph.D or DO) or Ph.D. or Pharm.D.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, working in Medical Affairs is required.
  • Experience in academic clinical research or pharmaceutical Clinical Development is a plus.
  • Prior people management is preferred.  Prior experience building a medical affairs team is a plus.
  • Prior experience in pulmonary disease is highly preferred. Additional experience in infectious diseases, epidemiology or rare diseases is also a plus
  • Experience working with HEOR is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance policies
  • Requires strong business acumen with strategic thinking and highly effective analytic skills
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness.
  • Excellent organizational agility and cross-functional approach is essential

Additional Information

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 20% travel, both domestic and/or international travel
