About the Role!


The Director of Medical Affairs role for ARIKAYCE will be responsible for supporting ARIKAYCE through its life cycle via implementation of medical affairs strategy.  This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, ARIKAYCE. Together with the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, this role will have responsibility for supporting commercial activities in the United States and launch activities globally and will be recognized as part of a high value medical team with the external medical community.


Specific position level will be commensurate with experience.


This position requires either a Board-certified Physician (M.D. or MD/Ph.D or DO) or Ph.D. or Pharm.D.   Qualified candidates will have a minimum 3 years of experience at an AD or Director level in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, working in Medical Affairs is requir


Additional responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 


  • Work within a cross functional team of medical professionals in planning and executing all aspects of the global integrated medical affairs plans for ARIKAYCE. 
  • Medical support in working with external medical experts and medical advisory boards
  • Provide medical support in developing the strategy, design and execution of Phase 4 company sponsored studies on ARICAYCE 
  • Provide medical expertise into the marketing strategies for ARIKAYCE.
  • Provide medical support to the review of promotional materials for ARIKAYCE
  • Provide medical support for the review of medical materials, including standard medical information response documents, and materials used by Field Medical
  • Provide medical support in developing the medical communications strategy (Abstracts, posters, publications)
  • Provide medical support in reviewing Independent Medical Education grants in compliance with internal process
  • Provide medical support to Drug Safety for any product alerts in the US
  • Provide medical support to the evaluation of data gaps and provide support to the processes related to Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Collaboratively work with other key stakeholders (Field Medical, Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Commercial)


About you!


  • Requires either a Board-certified Physician (M.D. or MD/Ph.D or DO) or Ph.D. or Pharm.D.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience at an AD or Director level in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, working in Medical Affairs is required.
  • Experience in academic clinical research or pharmaceutical Clinical Development is a plus. 
  • Prior experience in pulmonary disease is highly preferred. Additional experience in infectious diseases, epidemiology or rare diseases is also a plus
  • Experience participating in commercial reviews and communications with key opinion leaders nationally and globally.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross funcationally with key internal stakeholders such as Commercial and Market Access etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance policies
  • Requires strong business acumen with strategic thinking and highly effective analytic skills
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness.
  • Excellent organizational agility and cross-functional approach is essential

Travel Requirements:


Up to 15% travel, both domestic and/or international travel
