Overview

About the Role!

A unique opportunity to enable the successful first commercial launch of an innovative biotech organization, dedicated to improving the lives of patients battling serious and rare diseases, with analytics-driven insights to inform strategic decision making.

The position will be part of the Patient Services department and will have the primary responsibility for managing all Patient Health Information data assets across the department. The individual will work closely with Patient Services, Compliance, Commercial Strategy & Operations and IT colleagues. This position will be responsible for analysis of data ingestion and integrity issues, problem solving and solutioning with internal and external colleagues, and managing data partners. This position will align with key stakeholders on data insights and analysis. This person must be comfortable in operating in a fast-paced environment. The position will report to the Director, Patient Services and will be based in our Bridgewater, NJ headquarters location.

 

Responsibilities

Protected Health Information (PHI) Data Governance

  • Act as the subject matter expert on all aspects of PHI Information & Data Management
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable patient privacy laws (HIPAA, etc.), regulatory guidelines, and industry guardrails
  • Manage and oversee data flow documents and all other business requirements documentation on a regular basis to ensure appropriate
  • Monitor, review and audit data accuracy; ensure accurate reporting and validity of reports by overseeing quality checks
  • In collaboration with IT, define and govern rules for PHI file data structures and user access; oversight of data file layouts
  • Proactively identify potential issues in data exchange and aggregation process and resolve appropriately in collaboration with Patient Services and Commercial Operations teams

 

PHI Data Quality Management

  • Overall responsibility for timeliness and quality of PHI data to enable seamless daily operations of patient services function
  • Thorough understanding of data flows in and out of Insmed’s systems, including data aggregation and patient mastering process
  • Effectively communicate day-to-day concerns, issues and problems with PHI data to all partner teams, including specialty pharmacies, data aggregator, patient engagement platform and other downstream components for change management purposes, and resolve the issues in an expedited manner
  • Ensure timely, accurate and reliable PHI data exchange across all other third parties that will handle PHI data on a daily basis
  • Management of restatement processes, when necessary
  • Conduit across partners for all change requests with respect to PHI data
  • In collaboration with IT, manage and track required third-party data access agreements; establish goals for data quality improvement and partner with vendors on process improvement
  • Accountable for data quality metrics with all Partners who supply and ingest data into Patient Services

Patient Services Operations Support

  • Patient services insights and analytics; use data trends and develop reports to inform potential opportunities to improve commercial operations effectiveness
  • In collaboration with the business teams, develop standard reporting to support operational objectives
  • Perform detailed review and conduct root cause analysis on data quality inquiries from Patient Services, Commercial Effectiveness, and Commercial Operations teams
  • Translate Standard Operating Procedures, business rules, and team needs into system requirements
  • Oversight of Patient Services systems testing

Qualifications

About you!

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech patient services or information management
  • Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical data (e.g., patient services analytics, HIPAA requirements, specialty pharmacy, payer, longitudinal patient-level data)
  • Experience with pharmaceutical launches and commercialization of pharmaceutical products – orphan/specialty drug launch experience preferred
  • Experience in drafting and maintaining business requirements, data flows and other governance documentation
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Access/PowerPoint) to investigate data related issues across systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Self-motivated, with a sense of urgency
  • Creative problem-solving ability required
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of work time
