About the Role!

The Senior Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) is a strategic leader responsible for development and communication of HEOR evidence to demonstrate the value of Insmed’s product(s).  The Senior Director will serve as an expert on HEOR and a strategic partner to stakeholders across the Company, including market access, marketing, medical affairs, and clinical development to support Insmed’s business needs. This role will report into Executive Director/ Head of HEOR and is located in the Bridgewater, NJ headquarters.  


Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 


  • Lead development of HEOR studies and evidence to demonstrate the value of Insmed’s product(s) to support reimbursement and market access. Primary focus of this role is to support the US market needs.
    • Design and implement HEOR studies including burden of illness studies, patient-reported outcomes studies, claims and EMR database analyses, economic models, and systematic literature reviews
  • Lead HEOR publication plan and develop HEOR publications for submission to scientific congresses and peer-reviewed journals
  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop the communication materials for HEOR data, including product value dossiers, AMCP dossier and other payer relevant communication content
  • Represent HEOR on medical and commercial crossfunctional teams as a subject matter expert on product value proposition and HEOR scientific evidence, and align HEOR initiatives with the business needs
  • Responsible for review of HEOR study protocols and study reports, value dossiers and publications to maintain the high quality and scientific rigor of HEOR deliverables
  • Manage external research vendors and consultants to deliver results
  • Manage HEOR budget and deliverables, and support HEOR department operational processes and improvement initiatives


About you!

  • Doctoral or Master's degree (PhD, MS/MPH) in HEOR or related field (health services research, public health, epidemiology, health economics)
  • At least 10 years experience in pharmaceutical and/ pharmaceutical consulting working on Real World Evidence (RWE) research / Health Economics/ Outcomes Research/Epidemiological Research
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications on HEOR and RWE, observational research, outcomes research and/or health economics
  • Experience in developing payer-focused HEOR communication materials
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US payer environment and evidence needs to support market access. Ex-US experience is a plus
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, strong sense of urgency, entrepreneurial spirit, problem solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, and collaborative work style

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 20% travel on average, both domestic and/or international
