    The Key Account Director (KAD) for the South East Region serves as the main point-of-contact for a wide variety of assigned national and regional payer accounts. In addition to helping to establish and maintain optimal access for Insmed brands, they would support internal cross-functional collaboration.

    The KAD is the access and coverage expert within Insmed. As part of securing and monitoring optimal access for Insmed brands, KADs will share disease education and approved promotional messages with high priority payer accounts and share resulting policy decisions with cross-functional Insmed teams.

     KAD will strive to:

    • Act as the central point of contact for all assigned payers accounts as part of securing optimal access for Insmed brands
    • Attain timely and optimal product access that supports Insmed’s commercial objectives (i.e. target policy prior authorization language)
    • Achieve and maintain optimal product access across multiple channels, regions, and account types
    • Secure regular account access to communicate Insmed product messages/objectives, and provide frontline feedback to internal cross-functional partners including Medical Science Liaisons, Field Reimbursement Managers, HEOR, and the payer marketing team
    • Resolve or minimize access barriers and instill reimbursement confidence within the market place


    • Market Access point for one (or more) of the following national accounts; Big 4 FFS, Humana, and Magellan as well as select regional accounts
    • Account delegation and work responsibility subject to change based on customer needs and corporate objectives
    • Develop and execute payer account business plans to ensure focused, strategic, timely and effective payer engagement
    • Achieves and maintains optimal product access across multiple markets including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and Institutional customer groups
    • Secures regular account access to communicate and achieve understanding of Insmed’s corporate identity and product messages/objectives
    • Present approved disease state and product messages in addition to insights on population health and HEOR data to payers in order to secure optimal reimbursement and access arrangements (e.g. target policy prior authorization language)
    • Present new approved data, including clinical, adherence, and HEOR data to improve access where possible
    • Facilitate quarterly business reviews with payers on plan specific patient funnel data and adherence rates
    • Support the goals of the market access team and work collaboratively with payer marketing
    • Monitor Insmed brand payer account approval rates to ensure appropriate pull-through of policy and target prior authorization (PA), and investigate and resolve access issues for assigned accounts
    • Provide feedback from the field to market access team and payer marketing to refine existing strategies, tactics, and tools
    • Follow up with payer accounts to resolve access challenges and address any HCP-reported issues (e.g. restrictive PAs) identified by payer marketing or reimbursement teams
    • Collaborate closely with newly developed field reimbursement manager role to ensure alignment and pull-through between payer policies and HCPs
    • Collect, share and maintain Insmed brand policies and PA language internally and report any changes promptly to prevent potential access issues
    • Maintains full compliance with all Insmed policies and procedures
    • Completes regular training on and is certified by Insmed HEOR on the use of approved models and materials. Provides feedback to HEOR on account insights that will drive future evidence development efforts.


    • Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of account management experience  
    • Existing relationships within the target customer pool is required. Candidate may reside in or adjacent to the Insmed defined region.
    • Specialty and/or orphan product launch experience in past 2-3 years is also required
    • Advanced HEOR training, population health management and/or benefits management experience is desired
    • Representing the company to regional and national payer customers requires the Key Account Director to exhibit strong product knowledge as well as experience elevating the clinical and economic significance of specialty and/or orphan products to payers 
    • Must have a keen understanding of the commercial, Medicaid and Medicare markets, therapeutic classes review process, health technology, and/or P&T cycles and requirements. Must be able to demonstrate an intimate knowledge and effective use of HEOR models 
    • Must be adept at the application of general payer dynamics, market trends, customer product portfolio to align Insmed efforts to customer priorities.
